Holbein has narrowed the range of their oil pastels to 141 colors. There are 42 primary colors (1) with two tints (3 & 5) and 3 grays (with tints 1 thru 5) for a total of 141 colors. This is the only line of oil pastels that produces tints of the pure colors as done in soft pastels. The gradations are subtle and allow for ease in developing blended passages. Holbein oil pastels are square in shape, soft and easily blended. Made from the highest quality lightfast pigment, wax and mineral oil.
